Haley Bundy is a singer-songwriter from a small Appalachian town in southeastern Ohio, raised on early mornings spent singing alongside her father. By 17 she had already played over 200 live shows, developing a smoky, emotional vocal style that carries echoes of Stevie Nicks, Tanya Tucker, and Amy Winehouse while remaining entirely her own.
In 2024, Haley relocated to Nashville with her family and immediately began performing across the city, collaborating with fellow artists, and releasing original music. Her debut single "June," written with her father about her first heartbreak at 14, marked the beginning of a recorded catalog that has grown to include "My Problem Is You," "In Love With Love Again," and her latest release "end to begin." "In Love With Love Again" won the Country Crossover Award at the 2025 International Continental Music Awards in Hollywood.
In 2026, Haley auditioned for Season 24 of American Idol, performing in front of judges Lionel Richie, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan. She also made The Voice, cutting a week before filming. Her CDF interview was one of the first times she spoke publicly about the American Idol experience.
Jason and Haley dig into her roots in small-town Appalachian Ohio, what it was like to uproot her whole family and move to Nashville at 18, the songwriting process behind her debut singles, and what it felt like to audition for American Idol Season 24 in front of Lionel Richie, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan. One of the most honest conversations CDF has produced.
