Morrison, IL Heavy Rock First Full Band CDF Session

About Strange News

Riff Driven
Heavy Rock

Strange News is a heavy rock outfit out of Morrison, Illinois, playing loud, riff forward rock and roll with a heavier, doom leaning edge. The band keeps things simple: big dual guitar parts, a driving rhythm section, and no gimmicks.

Their CDF session captures Death Rides The Winds of September, a blues rock leaning track pulled from the band's debut EP, Liar's Curse. It is the kind of riff built for a loud truck stereo as much as a record.

Strange News also holds a small piece of CDF history. They were the first full band to record a session in the CDF studio, setting the bar for every group that has come through since.

The CDF Session

Strange News came through the CDF studio for a one song session, the first full band CDF Music Group has hosted.

Heavy Rock Roots

The band draws on classic rock and doom leaning heavy rock, based out of Morrison, Illinois along the Mississippi River.

Debut EP

Liar's Curse is the band's first full length release, following an earlier demo.

First Full Band

Every CDF session before this one was a solo artist or duo. Strange News was the first complete band in the room.
